In light of all that research, I personally strongly disagree. Now, this is my PERSONAL take, but I have been married twice...yes, TWICE and did NOT live with the person before hand...BOTH cheated on me....one cheated right after we were married, got the girl pregnant, therefore he left me for her 2 months after we were married...the other had an affair with his friend's wife...I am now *cohabitating* with a guy I adore (who is also divorced) and he and I have NO plans of marriage...not any time soon anyway. We've known each other and been friends for about 3 years...i trust him completely with my daughter (he's basically known her since she was born, since we have been friends) and I am currently pregnant with his baby
( ... )
I understand where you are coming from.. and you are right, for your circumstances, but then not everyone will see things the way you have, nor will the have had the same life's experiences as you...
Yes, you're absolutely right...I just think of comittment as committment..it's not MORE of a committment b/c you have a piece opf paper saying you're married...but that's just my 2 cents! :O)
right before my ex-wife seperated with me, she would always say that the only thing that made us married was just a piece of paper and beyond that we were nothing... Committment is in the heart, and marriage is just a way to bind those hearts before everyone, right? I appreciate your two cents...
Hmmm.... This just makes me think twice... I used to think like her... have a trial run of sorts before getting married, live with the person, to know what it's like...
But it does make me wonder, sometimes can't it be a good thing to live with someone before marriage?
