I don't understand why but my life has been pretty hectic lately. I've recently decided to volunteer and I've chosen Canadian Blood Services and the Telus World of Science. You know it's funny, everytime I've heard about book clubs, I'll ask them if they actually talk about the book... they do the first few times, but then it just turns into a scheduled social time. Let me know how it goes for you. Sounds like a good idea. I've never joined one because I'm pretty picky about what I read :P

When are you buying your car?

Well, I hope your previous experiences with people in book clubs does not foreshadow what will happen to us. If I could defend our position it would be that we hang out once a week to begin with, so we get our fill of socializing already without the book club. I considered asking if you wanted to join but I figure I should keep the group small until we know what we're doing. It will be a few books later before I consider expanding the group.

About the car, I don't know when a purchase will happen. I really feel like the dealership is playing tricks with me. I have a number of options at this time though. I can fax a request for a quote to other dealerships in western Canada and see what they have to offer me. I could even go beyond that and buy the car in the US and then drive it back. I could wait until the month end when they have to meet quota and are more willing to reduce the price. I could wait until they announce the 2009 models before I decide what to do. So, I really don't know what's going to happen.

Your statement about the gas mileage has me scared. I haven't abandoned it but I've started to look at possibly greener alternatives. The Camry Hybrid looks pretty tempting. But the lack of the fun-ness of AWD is disappointing.
