Yeah, our appendix is our vestigial cellulose-chomping-bacteria storage sack. I am a little fuzzier on the function of the spleen. Lets see what I can remember, because going to look would be cheating.
Um, Blood and immune system gubbins. It manufactures antibodies and lymphocytes and cleans the blood of old or freaky or dead red blood cells, other debris and general foreign nasties I think. Acts as a blood reservoir, and can produce red blood cells if your bone marrow gives up.
Also, it is purple, which is a good colour for an organ.
