Sheesh, word travels fast. Poor kitty from upstairs got locked out in the rain tonight, so we let him in and dried him off. He was certainly a playful guy. Made himself right at home.

Cats are generally curious about things, even playful when it comes to exploring. Since the cat lives in your general area, it'll be used to the "scent" of your place.
Hopefully you didn't feed it. The rule when it comes to cats "if it ain't yours, don't feed it or it'll keep coming back". Thats what happened to one of our cats for several months because someone else kept feeding it, she of course came back home after a long while but she would generally still keep visiting the other place.
