I woke up wearing last night's makeup
I was sleeping on the floor
I can't even count how many times
I’ve been in this place before
Too much drinking, too much dancing
Too many card games, too much gambling...
As the light hits my eyes
And others start to stir
I have last night in my mind
Though it may be just a blur
But there is a feeling down deep in my bones
That I had felt all night sharp and clear
The feeling still lingers like last night's makeup
It’s that you should have been here.
I pull the blankets a little closer
I can't stop thinking about you
But just like last night's makeup
I have to get up and start today without you
