Went to the Mazda dealership to have the codes cleared today. They ended up doing a diagnostic b/c the same code came back. They then fabricated a new harness for my coolant sensor. No more check engine light. Went to get retested for emissions. Failed. Not nearly as bad this time, though. Coming home... check engine light comes back on. I

Coolant sensor code plus O2(output too low). It only comes on after I've been driving like 5 minutes. On the highway at least. That's all I've really driven so far.

Oxygen senor? Replace it. I am sure your miata only takes one so why take it to a mechanic who is gonna charge you 80 dollars an hour when you could buy a new o2 senor for 50 bucks, replace it in 10 minutes, and be on your way?

Since I've failed emissions twice now, I have to spend at least $200 at a certified emissions place in repairs. I have no choice. Otherwise, I would do it myself.

Jeez, I would think a backwoods town like charlsetown wouldn't have emission testings... Thank God they got rid of it in louisville. Time to cut off the cats!
