The first chapter of Women in Clothes is three pages worth of questions which I thought would make a fabulous meme. Or more likely, several memes.

1. What is the most transformative conversation you have ever had with someone on the subject of fashion or style?
I think possibly the conversation I had with my mother when we went to find her an outfit for my brother's wedding. It explained so much about her lack of confidence in shopping and style, and thus her inability to pass either of those things on to me. Also, we found her an amazing outfit which made her cry because she looked so beautiful in it. Sadly, there did not seem to be lasting transformation in her attitude to clothes.

With respect to my own style, I think some of the conversations I had with a former housemate were pretty transformative. She taught me how to think about clothes and style, and the difference between fashion and style.

2. With whom do you talk about clothes?
People on the internet mostly. A few RL friends a bit, but I don't think I know many people who are as interested in clothes as I am.
