Too brief for brevity

I wonder if Akira Kurosawa realized the irony of making a 2 1/2 hour movie called Ikiru (Life is Brief) about a bureaucrat who realizes that he's been doing nothing with his life, and only turns it around when he gets stomach cancer, is a waste of the audiences' time. Yeah, didn't think so.

Uh-oh...Kurosawa is one of my favorites. Now I have to watch Ikiru and possibly defend the movie with fangirl-like rage. I'll let you know when I get around to it ^^;;.
