If you decide not to build your own site, you might consider Skyehawke.org even as a temporary measure, which is a fantastic archive. It's by invite only, but I'd be happy to hook you up.

And did I ever email you about that long story you sent me to beta for you?

Thanks! I'll definitely consider it.

No, did you like it? *Bites nails nervously* What did you think?

No, I couldn't open the damned thing! :(( I think that something is screwed up with my Works, because somebody else sent me something to look at this week and I couldn't open that, either. I'm a Word girl, so I've never had other occasion to use Works, so I think this is the problem. I'm going to try to save it onto a jump drive and try it in another computer, but I did want to let you know that THAT was the problem. <3

Gah, I'm sorry! Do you want me to try and send it in another format? It might take me a while to work out how to do but I could give it a shot.

Oh thanks for being so informative! I really appreciate it, especially as I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. The fact that my computer can save pictures of johnny depp on my desktop still astounds me!

Eek! The world of webspace looks terrifying! I will check out all those options you mentioned to me and it's so kind of you to offer to host me! *feels loved* Thanks so much, my darling.

Am off to peruse your website!

I know that some fanfiction writers set up a seperate LJ account to store their written work under lj-cuts. ^-^

I didn't know they offered Ancient Greek for A-levels O_o

That's actually not a bad idea at all... *is struck by brilliance and simplicity*

I didn't know either! I did the GCSE and everything a year late as an extra one and then they offered me this. It's much later than it would have been but at least I get to do it.

I <3 ancient greek. I'm lame, I know this.

Well, I can't say that I can help you with building a web site, I've tried many times on free web hosting sites but gah! they take way too much time and planning and can be really confusing, especially if you have to use advanced html. One recommendation would be to start a yahoo!group, you can archive all your fics there plus have fans join. Just a thought. And it's much easier to work, though I don't suppose it'll look as good as a proper website. Good luck either way, darling, and keep us posted!

Peace,
Wolfy

OMG I hadn't even thought about html! *recoils in terror* This all seems horribly confusing to someone who doesn't understand why metal can't go in a microwave or where emails go when I send them. (It baffles me, that one, it really does...)

Will let all you lovely people know as soon as I get my arse settled somewhere!

Btw, I don't think I've ever told you, but I <3 your name.

Why can't metal go in a microwave? (I've probably just asked one of the most obvious questions in the world but if you don't know... well, then I feel better knowing I'm not alone!) as for e-mails? Who knows! Let's not go there!

And you really should get a yahoo!group lol, just because it's easier, even if you just use as you're creating this webby!

My name? Really? Um, thanks... but can I ask... Why!? lol

Peace,
CS WhiteWolf

Gah! Exactly my point! (I actually genuinely don't know but if I ever venture to ask someone I get raised eyebrows and looks of indulgence that make me slink away).

I just love wolves in a kind of ooh-dogs-but-scarier kind of a way. They're cool and everyone should have one.

I have two websites.

One is nothing but a fiction archive and one is a Voldemor, Death Eater site. They both have fiction sections and I would jump and yell and do cart wheels if you were to archive at either of them. They both have a ton of storage space and excess bandwidth. I in the process of skinning the archive to a Harry Potter theme.

http://voldemorts-hideaway.com

I could lend some advice if you wanted to make your own site. Just let me know.

Sweetheart, I'd be happy to be archived there! As long as I know where I can find my fics I'd love for you to have them on your site! Thanks so much for the offer of help. Am so bewildered right now!

Am going to look at your lovely creations.

I have been meaning to tell you that if you got a domain you could have you DNS pointed to my host and I'll be more than happy to host a small site for your fics. I am not that savvy with HTML but I use Frontpage to do most of my layouts which saves butt loads of time.
