It started on the weekend. Gradual at first, I wasn't sure what to make of it. It was a pain in my left arm, just below the shoulder. By Monday, it was hard to ignore, as it was begining to spread below my elbow. Pain relievers were having no effect. It didn't help that I had caught my wife's cold and was coughing up a lung. Stress does nasty things, but if you get migraines, it might be what's called an 'atypical migraine'; something I get all the time - joy.
Either way, if it is still hurting, you could alternate hot and cold packs on it (10 on hot, 10 off, 10 on cold, 10 off) which sometimes works for me to sort of 'shock' my brain into hearing REAL messages from my body. Alternately, run something light, with a feather touch, over the same area - it amounts to the same thing - distracting your brain from the pain by giving it something else to feel (same principle as a TENS unit, but much nicer, and free!)
