[One-shot] Living Proof
- Back in Osaka -
Not once in her life Natsu though she would be in that situation. Sho next to her, holding her hand, and 4 of the most handsome guys in Osaka scrutinising her. Before they arrived Sho gave her a small summary about each of his brothers. But as soon as she got in to the house and the other Sakurai brothers receive them, she got insanely nervous, forgetting everything. Sho introduce her as his girlfriend, they never talked about it, but it was already obvious. They salute her politely, not all of them, but she will survive. They leaved their bags in the entrance and Sho released the Cat who comfortably sat in the couch. They asked him how was work, if they wanted to eat something, how was the ride home, and all those themes that weren’t related with the fact that he arrived home with a girl under his arm. But he wanted to change, so he decided to grave the situation by the horns. Sho start to introduce her, her age, her name, a much edited version of how they met, and what she did for living. “Really Sho? A prostitute?” Natsu looked at Sho’s brother, the one that looked like a model in a day off, with a shocked expression and defended herself immediately “Hey hey hey!, let me stop you there… big eyebrows, sorry I still can’t learn your names, I’m not a prostitute, I get paid to keep company to guys when they go to our club, but I have never done more than that, and If I will…it would be dangerous because all my regulars are man over 50 and they could get a heart attack, Am I right Sho?” Sho laughed shyly, “Yeah, it would be dangerous for them and Jun-kun, next time watch your mouth” Jun crossed his arms, looking a bit arrogant, and said nothing more. “Well, we are surprised because we thought that Sho-chan was gay” The brother that looked like the younger one, Nino, talked this time “Oi! How could I be gay, I used to borrow you my adult magazines!” Nino only shrugged, looking at Natsu smiling at him “He never brought a girlfriend home, and he’s so well behaved and such a gentleman that, you know” This time the tallest one talked, from the beginning Natsu felt as if he was the good one in the movie, he would be on her side, she wasn’t very sure why. Natsu looked at the only brother who hasn’t state his opinion about Sho’s sexual orientation. Ohno was sitting in the middle of the couch, looking a bit sleepy, but smiling at both of them “Ohno-san, right? You also thought that Sho was gay?” He looked at the ceiling, thinking deeply. And then looked back at Natsu “I don’t know, I never thought about it, It wouldn’t matter anyway, I’m happy that finally he brought someone” They smiled at each other, and now Natsu had a new favourite brother in law. They kept in silence for a while, and the Cat broke the silence with a long and loud meow “And who is this?” Aiba got up and sat in front of the animal, caressing his head “This is Cat” Aiba introduce himself to the cat and kept caressing his head, looking overly happy “And you brought a cat too? I don’t like cats” Jun talked again, and Natsu wasn’t very bothered by his behaviour, it was rather amusing “J, you like cats, but cats don’t like you” There was a collective, yet very low, laugh “Well, give him some time to met you and you guys are going to be best friends” Jun frowned at Natsu, feeling as if she was mocking at him. She ignored it. “Whatever, I’ll go serve dinner, what do you drink Tanaka-san?”
“Water is good for me, thanks….your brother is cute” She added in a lower voice once Jun leaved the room, to which Sho only nodded, relieved. His brothers followed Jun, and leaved them alone in the living room, Sho was ready to do the same, but Natsu stopped him “I’m really your first girlfriend?”
“Yes”
“That’s kind of cute, but I wish your first girlfriend was better than me”
“Well….”
“You weren’t popular?”
“It’s not that, it’s just that, I told you already, I never felt comfortable with girls, so in one point I just gave up. But when I met you, you came to me, and I fell so comfortable with you, and although I did got nervous, and clumsy, you didn’t care, and you did things that would have take me months to do, because I couldn’t make up my mind about doing it”
“Like, sex in the first date things?”
“Exactly” Natsu thought a little bit about it, glad for being like this.
The next morning Sho woke up in his small bed, feeling happy to be back at his house. It took him a minute to notice the warm body next to his. He woke her up by playfully squeezing her butt. “What time is it?”
“9 o’clock”
“Where I am?”
“My house”
“I know, I just wanted to hear that again” She got a kiss attack as breakfast.
By the time they were out off bed, the Sakurai household was already empty “Ohno works in the first opened store from his branch, Aiba works at the zoo, he’s a vet, Nino is on his last year of finances and Jun works as an event planner, from weddings to politic events” Natsu was amazed, the Sakurai brothers had their lives already sorted out. She felt small, but kept it for herself.
Natsu really enjoyed the first week in Osaka. The weather was great, the city was beautiful, and being in Sho’s company was the best. He took her to all his favourite places, to his old school, to the tourist places, and last, to his parent’s grave. Sho introduce her to them, and Natsu started crying, Sho’s words and the entire situation touched her.
That Saturday Jun had planned a welcome party for Sho. The only guests were his brothers, a couple of neighbours and Sho’s boss. “Oh! So you’re the one who brought Sho back to life”
“I am aware of how you called my boyfriend a zombie, for sending him to Tokyo I’ll always being in debt” There was a playful imprint in Natsu’s words and he liked it, now she had a new friend in Osaka. They had a nice meal, it didn’t matter how cold Jun was with her, the damn guy knew how to cook. She was hopping to make their relationship better so he could teach her how to cook. Because if things followed the course they were taking, one of them should learn how to cook, no one could live their entire life eating frozen food. But for now, it didn’t look as if reconciliation was close. Jun kept looking at her with distant eyes. The rest of the brothers have already accepted her, but Jun had still is doubts. She could understand it though, it was obvious that Sho was Jun’s favourite big brother, he looked up at him and had a strong protective instinct towards his brother. That much, she could understand.
With the idea of get closer to Jun, Natsu helped him with the plates. Sho gave her an encouraging look as she passed by him.
Natsu had just leaved the plates in the sink and was ready to leave the kitchen when Jun stopped her by putting an arm around her waist and cornering her against the closest wall. “So, would you like to try another brother?”
“I don’t know, is yours bigger than your brothers?” She cupped his crutch and Jun’s face was priceless “I don’t think so, you see, I know what are you trying to do and I’ll not fall for it, I love your brother, deal with it”
“I don’t trust you”
“Well, I don’t know why that is, but I don’t give a damn, now would you let me go?” Jun took a step back, and looked anywhere but Natsu’s eyes. She felt a bit sorry “Jun-san, I’m not going to hurt your brother, that I can promise, I know how hard could be for him to develop a relationship and I’m glad he picked me…I still can’t understand why…but… he did” Natsu felt small again. She walked outside the kitchen and for some reason got inside the house, to Sho’s room.
Jun came back from the kitchen without Natsu, when Sho asked him were she was he said he didn’t know. “How can you not know? She was with you”
“Sorry”
”We will talk later Jun, I will go look for her” Sho excuse himself and bid goodbye to his guests, he knew this would take a while. He found Natsu at his room, with a picture of Sho the day he graduated in her hands, looking very gloom. He sat next to her, but she didn’t show any sign of noticing him. “I never wondered about it before but…Sho, why did you choose me? You’re super smart, sweet and nice, and I’m a nymphomaniac who can’t stay still in one place, with now clear path in her life and…”
“Stop it Natsu, don’t do this to yourself, you’re amazing, you excite me in so many ways, you get the best of me, you surprise me all the time, I told you before,
You make me feel alive” Natsu kept quiet, she felt like crying, but at the same time like laughing. She opted to keep quite. “Natsu…marry me” Sho wished he could take a picture of Natsu’s face right now, her eyes were 5 sizes bigger and her lower lip was shaking. “I love you and I want you, I want your sleepy confused look when you wake up, and the smile that follows, I want to fill the space in your bed, I want to be there the day you found your path in life, I want to share every moment of your life with you and also I don’t want to share you” Sho wanted to explain, what he felt, convey the fact that there’s no ceiling for what he felt for her “Sho, I want you to be happy, I’m not sure I can be your happy ending”
“You can always have a happy ending, you just have to stop the movie whenever you want, so let’s stopped it now, no, let’s better stop it after you say yes, come on say it”
Natsu wasn’t sure about her answer. Marriage wasn’t a dream for her, it didn’t even make it to the top 10 of things she wanted to do in life, but now that Sho was asking her, she kind of like the idea. But that was her. She couldn’t avoid think about Sho, there must be someone better for him out there. But she wanted to start thinking selfishly. Solitude was corrupting her, for a while now. She needed company and care, and Sho gave her that. That and so much more.
She got up from the bed, feeling a bit euphoric. She was about to do it. She will jump from that singleness plane, free fall. “Yes…I want to marry you Sho” Sho got up with a dumb and wide smile embellishing his face. He said nothing else, only came closer to her, tracing her arms before settling them down at the small of her back, curving possessively against the dip of her spine. There was a faint tinge of colour on her cheeks and the way she looked at him made his stomach jump happily “I hope I can keep up with you Natsu” His eyes flashed happily before he crushed their lips together. Natsu hugged him tight, as close as possible to her body. She could already feel a bulge against her hips “Is that because of me?” She asked moving apart, looking at Sho’s lower half “It’s always because of you”.
Outside they could still ear some noise, a low murmur of voices from Sho’s guests. Sho’s fingers were entwined with hers and his head was resting against Natsu’s neck, their warm skins melting together. “You know? There’re times when I really wonder how did I end up in between your legs” Natsu giggled with Sho’s statement “Why?”
“Because is so wonderful, I fell like I don’t deserve it”
“Baka” Sho got up, resting on top of her, looking at her flushed face ”Natsu, I came back from dead that day I met you” Natsu giggled again, feeling overly happy and embarrassed by Sho’s words “You belong only to me my ex-zombie” She said kissing Sho’s lips with a blissful expression “Natsu, when you say that with such a happy face there’s nothing left for me to say”
“Good, then kiss me some more” Sho pecked Natsu’s lips playfully until she turned them around, getting on top of Sho ready for another round. But suddenly an idea came to her mind “Sho, since everyone is here, why don’t’ we go outside and tell them the good news” Sho gave it a little thought, he looked at Natsu’s naked body, then at their clothes spread on his bedroom floor and then put attention to the sounds that came from the backyard. He didn’t feel like going back to reality yet. “No, they can wait, let’s keep practicing for our wedding night” Natsu agreed immediately.
