I know how that feels; it took me almost a year before I could actually watch any 11 after Tennant left.
Though I've come to adore Matt Smith too. He was awesome in the show, one of the most physical actors I've ever seen, and he was so cute in that silly program where they announced the new Doctor...
You'll know by now that it's been confirmed. I'm not as thrilled as you are, but then I gave up watching as a protest when they cast Tom Baker - although I was lured back briefly by Peter Davison - so I don't really have a horse in this race! If the plan is to shake things up again and challenge people's perceptions, though, it's good start.
Well I have to say that even though most 'old school' fans seem to love Tom Baker, he must have been a disappointment after Jon Pertwee (who is absolutely gorgeous and so is his son btw.).
I'm loving the fact that the new Doctor isn't the kind of 'around his forties or younger, probable sex object' like the previous three have been. Not that I have anything against hot young men... It just feels a bit too calculated to target the teenage audience. Maybe now we can have actually grittier storylines without the eternal optimism of youth.
