Oh, I'm still watching GoT. But I'm a fan of the books, too, so it's not like I wasn't prepared for the violence. And it was a good episode, though there was something in it (which I will not mention specifically in case you haven't watched it yet) which I wasn't looking forward to seeing.
I tried to read the books ages ago, but something about the formatting really put me off. I guess it's easier to watch the whole *jump to the other characters across the country* thing on screen than it was to read it.
Oh man. :( I knew it was coming and I thought I was ready to it, but the sounds made me hit the pause button and then slowly back away. I'm not usually squeamish with on screen violence, but I may have found my limits here.
But I have to say it was good storytelling, especially from the show. The character was built nicely here, and was so likeable it was really sad to see them go.
