I'm in a constant battle with myself over whether or not to share my art. By now I feel like a ton has accumulated that I don't show to more than one, or sometimes two or three or four, people. I used to kind of obsessively share everything I drew all the time. Not because I felt like it was all something that was worth people's time or that ( Read more... )

I dont see the problem with attaching a little 'Please dont draw them' to the end of each description from now on. Past art is past.

I'm gonna tell you what I tell my friend Kelley about this almost exact same topic: Just go with it day by day and piece by piece. If you feel compelled to share something, then share it. If you want to take something down, take it down.

It's your art, we'll all respect your decisions. This is just the internets and your art and a bunch of us crazies, you shouldn't feel any pressure either way :)

I think when you post stuff on Deviant Art you're putting yourself in a community setting and there's an open invitation to work off of each other... but you stopped doing that so I think you're probably fine... when it's on your own turf/website/lj you can say "dont draw them" and not worry about it.

Hmm. It can be understood, artwork and characters is a personal assessment and exploration of yourself. So it can be understood that the characters portrayed whom based of your ideals and thoughts can become private and solitary and you perfer if people didnt interpertate them outside the way you intended, yeah? I agree, probably making a note of it on to the image or under (like in your newest) is probably the best way to go.
