[SCA] It Takes MY Child to Raze a Village, cont'd

Jan 20, 2009 17:13

Just out of curiosity, because I think you folks have a terrific sense of humor, if you were running an event of this name, what sorts of activities would *you* plan? I'm giving it to you blank because I want to build on the idea. They've sent me a list of what they did, and I hope to add to it and share back.

Ideas?

Thanks!

"Tandem" Throwing contests...two short boffer spears, conjoined by a rope, and hurled by paired contestants at a (parental) target.

Oooooo - that sounds interesting! One assumes the parental type is wearing armor?

That reminds me - the hunker-hawser game ought to be a fairly entertaining addition to the day - one can play even with disparate sizes.

I'd love to see some archery at something like this, site and number of marshals permitting. (I would be more than willing to help with this). I think that archery is a great thing for children to get involved in, and it would work best if they were introduced at something geared towards them rather than a general event or local practice.

Terrific! My son loves archery! (He's 10)

(Note to self - find a site where archery will fit)

Awesome!
