i went to see war of the worlds tonight and i was sitting there thinking ... "i wonder what the expression on my face would look like if someone surprised me with taking a picture of me while watching a certain part of a movie." seriously though, i notice that sometimes i get into a movie so much that i feel like i'm there. haha.. as in being upset ( Read more... )

okay, so it's not that it didn't make sense to me, it's just that they didn't explain what those red weeds were (although i already knew) and when you see the first tripod some dude is using a video camera and someone was using a regular camera.. how? nothing else worked. not even cruise's watch. ya know? the whole movie made sense, it's just that if you don't know the sotry to begin with, then you don't follow it as easily.

but i seriously loved that movie. so i didnt care about all that.

likewise..that's been one of my favourite stories since i was a little kid so if there's anything to exlplain, im sure i could help as well. though the whole thing with the tripod ships already being there was kinda...odd..but it could make sense if you looked at the big picture.

but thats the thing i was just thinking about a good movie. there hasnt been one in a long time where ive been immersed in it soo much where ive felt an empathy towards everyone involved until i saw the recent 'wotw' albeit, it may just be the connection i have to the story...but i enjoyed it immensely.

well it's like i explained above. i already knew the story, so it's not that some parts didn't make sense to me,it's just that they didn't do a good job at explaining a few things and they also made a mistake (even i noticed cause normally i don't watch for things like that). i hate knowing about them actually. haha.

i liked how the tripods were burried in the ground. i thought that was a neat idea. gives a sense of betrayal.. or i dunno. hah.

and yeah, i haven't gotten into a movie as much as i did last night since maybe jurassic park when i was younger. haha. i loved 'wotw' though. it was great.

lol ya...clearly the cameras still working was an error...i caught it too, and frankly, it was a pretty sketchy error to miss. haha

and the red weeds...well like you said, you already know. but for those who read this and dont, the aliens grew the red weeds in order to start terraforming earth, inorder to make it like their home world.

another thing you may not have understood fully, without knowing the original story, is that the invaders were using human blood as both fertilizer for their red weed, and also as nourishment. they dont have a digestive system like our own, but rather, they use the fresh blood of other creatures, and replace their own with it. a lot of people seem to have gotten the idea that the creatures just used the blood for their red weeds, and ate either that weed, or regular food, and got the viral and bacterial infections from breathing our air. not the case. they got our diseases via our blood. and as was clearly shown, no immunity=no survival.(highlight that last part...i hid it incase people who hadnt seen ( ... )

okay, one thing to add to that about the buried war machines is that those machines would have had to be buried for 10's of thousands of years.. AT LEAST. after that many years you would think that their technology would have advanced greatly and that their machines would have been pretty outdated. it would have been disasterous for them if we had created something much more powerful than what they had already waiting for us. they would have had to bury them before we got here, thus making it impossible for them to know whether we were able to advance faster than we have. if that made any sense.

also i didn't know about the transfer of blood.

my brother has the book, i'll have to read it.
