I neglected to make my annual "watch the Perseids!" post last week, but I hope some of you did, since I didn't have a hope of seeing anything here in light-pollution central. I think this was only the second time in my life I've missed them -- next summer I'll have to plan ahead and get invited to someone's cottage or something. (

Yeah, the more I read another article on Sherlock and asexuality recently, the more it made a whole lot of sense. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the topic.

I missed the Perseids too (NYC = light-pollution central for the planet!), though I know a stargazer who can probably show me some good pics he took upstate.

Yay for little black notebooks! (Interestingly, I spotted in "A Study in Pink" that Sherlock seems also to be a fan of Moleskines. I approve.)

Yeah, I knew there had been discussions elsewhere but I haven't really gone looking for them, mostly because I find I like to get my own thoughts down before I see what other people have to say. That post seems rather more absolutist than my reading of things, but that's not to say it's not a plausible one. (Some of my thinking about these things comes from a rather different place, too: I dated an asexual guy for most of last year, which naturally led to, well, quite a bit of thinking about these things.)

I noticed that, too -- they certainly do nice detail work, don't they?

On a wholly unrelated note, a quick survey of the various black Moleskines lying around my apartment reveals that 100% of them contain gay porn, and my finely-honed skills of induction lead me to believe that the same is probably true of other black Moleskines lying around other people's apartments. I mean, hypothetically.
