[A few taps of the pen proceed the entry, idly dotting before the words begin to appear-- though they look more like a list jotted down out of memory than anything else initially, with certain words scribbled out and some emphasized.]

The point of it all...I do wonder myself.

I stick by what I've always thought-the Tree, the Sphere is alive.

Its reasoning is quite beyond me, whether it be simple amusement or something much more twisted.

But I never stop wondering why. Why it sees fit to show me the things it does, to take away someone I care for, why it put us specifically here, when as evidenced by memories that there were so many more choices of people.

The Sphere is alive, you believe? Do you think the physical part of the sphere and tree is sentient and has thoughts, or that it's merely a conduit for other thoughts and intentions?

The reasoning, however, I'm sure we all have thoughts on.

...Loss is very common here. It's impossibly to live here for any length of time without losing those that you care the most about. It's a depressing realization... but we can't change such things in own current position.

It could be either, though I'm inclined to say some sort of mixture. Giant glass spheres don't appear randomly, so someone must have created this. It might have been a benign thing at first, taking people in, and taking care of them. But over time, it *pen taps* evolved, changed into something darker, multi-faceted, to the Sphere we know now. And "alive" could be used in an abstract sense. It doesn't mean the Sphere isn't alive, but it's very likely that what we typically consider alive (breathing, eating, reproudcing, etc.) doesn't apply here.

The Tree seems to subvert and manipulate every supposed natural law from any of our past lives. If that doesn't speak for some type of higher intelligence, I don't know what does.

And it's sentient enough to want to keep instelf shrouded in mystery. People who get too close often vanish, are killed, or are injured severely. And ordinary people who weren't close at all are dealt the same hand at times. Look at what happened to Truth, to Laguna. Yet...it sends some people back. Why? Again, ( ... )
