Entry 02 - Home

Apr 15, 2010 23:53

My time at L'Atobe thus far has been enjoyable and instructive. With every shift at the restaurant, I gain knowledge from my co-workers and the patrons I am helping. And your entries, especially the entries of those of you under the influence, have also been useful and entertaining. I hope you will cooperate with a question I have been grappling ( Read more... )

Things are always better when you throw them into a blender~

Well put. However, what do you mean by "things?"

And do you think there are some things that should not be mixed, like carbohydrate and acidic foods?

I'm pretty sure you can figure that out on your own, considering the subject of your post.

Obviously. That'd taste grossss.

So mental and physical -- the identity as a blender. Thank you for your valuable input, Bunta.

And it is terrible for you.

Wow, I don't know if I can put this as eloquently as Bunta...

Home is a feeling, not a place.

So you feel "home" is entirely in the mind or gut?

senti_kun April 16 2010, 19:42:46 UTC
Both.

So the physical place is irrelevant?

I don't mean to sound too terribly cliche, but home is where the heart is. However, an empty house is not a home.

Though, I think it possible to have more than one home. For example, while I don't live there any more, my childhood residence is still home even though I think the hotel is home right now. If you move a lot, I think you will consider those places home.

Home is where you feel comfortable, safe and loved. It can be in a small, one room apartment; a large, three floor mansion or a treehouse.

Do you feel this comfort comes from within, or has to do with the physical properties of the place and its people?

Reply

flaming_redhead April 17 2010, 01:34:02 UTC
Both. You need to be physically comfortable in a place as well to be emotionally comfortable.

Well sure a lot of places can be home. Home is where you can be yourself.

What about a place makes you feel comfortable enough to be yourself?

Family, friends, food, surfing. >D
