So here's my Oscar picks...granted I haven't seen everything nominated, I'm seen my share and plan on seeing the majority of the rest before the ceremony comes up. All the picks I'm making are from personal thoughts, opinions of friends, and critic reviews (in that order of consideration).

fuck LJ i just typed a HUGE comment about this post and it ate.

1. uhm..i had asked if Brokeback was up for Best Original Screenplay cos you didn't list it, but had mentioned it in yer caption.

2. Phillip Seymour Hoffman deserves to win because he a.) is amazingly talented. b.) he plays biographical roles better than anyone i have seen. c.) he played lester bangs who is my idol. d.) he's hot..and you know you day dream about his balls.

3. I am seeing Goodnight, Goodluc at the art cinema this weekend..I am psyched..it looks incredible.

4. I liked Brokeback Mountain so much, but if it sweeps I'll kill an asian.

5. Hope al is well.

1) Yeah, I'm an idiot...it's not.
2) Yeah, you're right again. I was trying to think of something where I didn't like him and couldn't do it. I didn't really like Happiness, but he was at least entertaining. The woman from The Practice who played his foil was even better though.
3) Let me know how it is...like I said, I haven't heard anything negative about it, but it's not something I'm dying to watch. If it cleans up at the awards or many people tell me its great, then I'll check ir out.
4) That movie made me list the whole "personal, freinds, critics" order in the opening. I just haven't heard personally tell me anything great about it...lots of the "film students" around campus don't even seem to talk much about it. The critics love it though, and they vote somewhat...
5) Al Borland is well...so I am. Thanks :)

ohhhh, what do you think of Coachella this year? if you don't get back to me, I'll have to hit you up on your LJ.

I want to go this year since I haven't been yet, plane tickets were always so expensive. But this yea it's a drive away from me..so I'm thinking about going..They haven't posted the line up have they?

you made two mistakes
best original score should go to Gould...every time he scores it's "original"
and best picture, well that one's easy, it's in your facebook profile.

1) It's never original. I'd put dollars to donuts on that...I see those girls EVERYWHERE.

2) I don't put faith in myself when none of the naked pictures of me won in previous years.

like I said, he had an amazing performance, it made the movie slightly enjoyable. but the rest that I've seen in the category also gave excellent performances...I mean, I'm sure he is the frontrunner since he won at the GG (maybe SAGs? I don't care about that ceremony really) but in reality with the different voting audience, it could be any of them. Personally, I would like to see Joaquin win it.
