"totally amazingly good" I understand and cheer for. Sincere hurrah!

Could you clarify "keeping a lid on the transcription/data prep stuff"? I really don't understand or else I'm being thick this morning.

Does she mean not collecting data while letting the transcription /data prep backroom stuff wait until later so it builds up & up?

She means "keeping it under control" or "not letting it get out of hand" - which is to say that I'm doing the data collection as quickly as feasible, and almost-keeping-up with the data prep/transcriptions produced by said data collection at the same time. Make sense?
