I wish I'd been listening to a slow ballad that ended triumphantly... this was such a movie moment chapter.
AAAAAAAND the whole "pansy ass" thing. I bet you very much money you nailed that about his dad. Totally how I see it going. And calling him Sammy-boy. MAN OH MAN. Man alive. Just, man. I'M WAITING FOR MORE ALREADY. So, get on that. Soonish. Who needs their high school teachers anyway? Just tell them to read a book and tap away at your computer... They'll turn out fiiiiine. I think..

Anyway, bed time. THANK YOOOOOOOOOU.

oooh, good bridge chapter! Sam's thinking; he's pondering; he knows what he needs to do now.

And the note from Marlo was very simple and totally her.

Christmas in May? I won't complain if it's continuing like this. :)

That about sums it up... Sam's situation, not your story ;)

At least now it looks like he knows better.

One line, one italicized, bracketed line and I think you summed his dad up. NICE.

And I love how you said it without saying it: when he was six and developed his love of the smell of gasoline and grass clippings. (perfection)
