Hey, people seem to forget that HE declared WAR on the USA, not the other way around. What was there about the word WAR, that he used, that he did not understand? Maybe the word WAR means something different in Arabic than in English? (NO it DOESN'T!! He knew what he was doing, what he wanted to communicate, and he got it!)
In connection with this, I am reminded (and remind people) of the old fable of the sleeping Dragon, who the foolish knight kept kicking to wake him to do battle. Finally, growing tired and discouraged at ever waking him, he flings a huge boulder and hits the Dragon with it. At this, the Dragon wakes up and immolates the knight and wrecks the countryside all around until he is quite sated and then falls asleep again.
Remember the school motto of Hogwarts: "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus"
