Hm, "needy" has such a negative connotation when all it really means is we need sympathy towards ourselves. You really seem to know and articulate how your pulled to significant others. Insight is something a lot of us lack and that alone is great to have. It sounds like you kept pushing and pushing and she was in turn cold and distant leaving you drained?
