I certainly can understand that complete bliss period you are talking about. Growing up with three men at home (2 brothers and dad) plus mom's obsession with soaps, I had hardly got a chance to have a say in the pick of channels much less own the remote. I could fully own it only once I moved to US and lived by my own. Yet, I do miss the time with my family. :)

I'm learning! The only time I'd get irritated if someone changed channels was when I was watching sports (or rarely, politics).. Not much of a TV guy I guess..
I can relate to what you say though.. I could never fathom why people wanted to snatch what I was reading (newspaper, books et al) while eating.. :)

oooh i remember that hostel common room (and the tv. and the dirty looks given by those girls whenever anybody new came in!) how desperately i used to wish that i was in the hostel with all you people!
