Big meal this week

Aug 22, 2005 05:33

I'll be fixing our anniversary meal this week. It will consist of a 1 1/2 lb steak (just for her), garlic bread slathered in butter, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a token vegetable. I do this on special occasions. She almost always finishes the steak. Hmmmmm, what delicious dessert should I fix??? Any suggestions.........

Awww, don't diss the veggies! I love my greens, and if you want to its easy to make them fattening as well. :D And a nice little salad (with lots of dressing) makes a nice appetite-refresher.
Dessert.. Hmm. Icecream? Icecream cake is especially yummy. Or if you have Cold Stone Creamery or something similar nearby, get a pint of yummy hand-made icecream!

What's the most fattening veggie you can think of?

*ponders* That's a good question. Depending on what she likes, perhaps some broccoli stir-fried in bacon grease? If you spice it with ginger and some herbs and stuff it won't be heavy compared to the rest of the meal.
My best recommendation is also the simplest: a green salad with lots of fatty dressing! You could make your own with mayo, herbs and spices, perhaps.

A selection of small pastries. But have lots and lots, so she can have two or three of her favorite after trying each one.

I figure I'll have a 2 lb box of Russel Stover chocolates for the anniversary....and maybe a bag of doughnut holes today. They typically disappear quickly hehehe

In the frozen food section some desserts have a variety pack. Sara-Lee makes mini ecclairs which are pretty fattening. And because they're mini she'll want to eat more than just a few! Ice Cream cakes, Tiramisu, pound cake and cheesecake are all very delicous and fattening. Home baked goods are always the best though because they bring up so many little memories so pies, cookies and brownies would be great! Happy Anniversary!
