The witness’s name was Ed Brewer, and I really thought I knew that name, but it turns out he’s a republican candidate for Colorado state senate. Maybe he was on the Daily Show or something.
Is it just me, or was there a political thing happening when Dean was spouting the “Maverick”/”Rebel with a badge thing?
Lucy’s obsessive lipstick blotting struck me as strange and was a dead giveaway that she was going to be someone important later in the ep. It was too weird not to be a clue to something. Kripke, I’m gonna take that sledgehammer away from you if you keep overusing it like that.
Overall, I thought that this ep should came at a bad time. It seemed too much a sidestep when there was too much main story arc fun to be had.
Dean: “…like a dracula?” Was that a Venture Brothers reference? Or was it only in Venture Brothers that I first heard someone refer to a certain style of vamp as “a Dracula”?

Sam walked by the "Them" poster at the theater and I *really* wanted giant ants to come out. No one ever shapeshifts into a giant ant, durnit!

The whole ep was too fluffy for me. I want more meat, please - in both the plot and the gore sense. I wanted Jamie to turn out to be demon possessed - maybe even by Ruby, and scare the crap outta the shapeshifter. I thought the shapeshifter’s speech would have been just fine in a different ep, but came across as a lame attempt to add bite to this one.
