Two Letters

Mar 20, 1981 02:34

Name: Peter Pettigrew
Format: Letter
Date: March 20th, 1981
Relevance: Two bits of parchment taken from two dead owls found 3 meters from each other and kept together. Excuses for two different obligations. No alibi.

Archivist's note: Owls were not killed by ministry officials; they appear to have been cursed from the sky. Pieces of parchment were still attached to the legs and still rolled up. We do not know if whoever shot them down has the information on them. Took us some time to decode which charm was used on the ink on the second letter. Obviously it was a spell done in haste, as at first glance the note appears to read, 'Rats that don't like cheese.' Clearly something nonsensical and stream of consciousness on behalf of the caster to cover up the real messages.

Note 1:

Note 1 reads: Mum, will not be home for your birthday. I apologize, but I've got some work to do here. I'll come round the very next chance I get. Love you, and stay well, Pete.

Note 2:

Note 2 reads: Dumbledore, Thank you again for letting me out of Order duties this weekend to be at my mum's birthday. After all, we never know when our last chance will be, do we? I'll keep a wary eye out for owls in case you need emergency help. Peter.
