I'm currently reading Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey(one of the founders of Earth First!). It's a really good book and I thought I'd share a little something from it that I liked

Abbey was controversial for his attitude toward undocumented immigrants from Mexico. As i recall, he wanted to send them back, but i think he also wanted to arm them so they could overthrow their country's corrupt government.

A quote i recall from Abbey is that "Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell."

i have a biography of Abbey somewhere. The title if i recall correctly is "Edward Abbey: Life of a Desert Anarchist." You're welcome to borrow it.

Oh yeah, if i recall Abbey wrote his master's thesis on Kropotkin or at least used him as a major source or something in that thesis.

He was definitely an anarchist, but i think more in the tradition of 19th century American individualist anarchism, which has never really died out.
