A Very Glee Tour of Ireland

Aug 21, 2011 15:11

Turning 40 might be daunting, but I decided to hell with that, I'm going to celebrate the best way possible - Bring two fangirls (me and my long time LJ friend seanmegansean ) together from opposite sides of the world, put them in Ireland, give them a car and a blackberry loaded with Glee tunes - Epic Adventures will be guaranteed ( Read more... )

Doesn't this make me want to plan a trip to Ireland immediately? So many stunning pics! Beautiful countryside and castles and so green. Sounds like you had the best bday and trip ever!

I feel guilty now 'cos I haven't posted any more of my American trip. Must remedy this soon.

Lovely photos and really please that you liked Ireland. Some of those windy roads just make me feel ill because I got so sick being on them. lol I love Trinity, my cousin's husband use to work there.

I couldn't agree more that everyone should visit Ireland once in their lifetime at least.

However I have one complaint (and no it's not your love of Blarney Castle lol) Not a single shot of yourself or SMS?? Really!!!!???

we have one horrible shot of the two of us, and SMS doesn't like her photo splashed around in open posts. I did get some LOVELY ones of her though.

Loved those windy roads... they were such fun, and had to be taken slow for fear of what laid beyond the next corner.

Wonderful pictures and a wonderful way to spend your birthday.
You have a good eye for taking photos and you've made me want to visit Ireland. Thanks for sharing.

btw - Kylemore Abbey is so beautiful. Did you get to go inside? Is it still used?

Yes, Kylemore Abbey is still an operational abbey and they have a school there too. Some rooms are set up as a display of Victorian living and open to tourists. It's lovely, but we both preferred rambling amongst crumbling castles.

wow what wonderful photos. I want to pack my bags and head over to Ireland pronto pronto.
I loved all the old ruins...all that history. So different to what we have here in Australia.

I think that's what makes me love these decaying buildings... we have nothing even close to their age and history, and it's truly magnificent to walk halls that are so ancient.

This all looks absolutely amazing!!! From the food, to the sights, to the charming villages, and all the green colors -- I could feel the atmosphere and now I want to go. :D

I'm so glad you two had such a special birthday trip. *HUGS*
