Emmy Awards 2011

As much as I love Big Bang Theory and Jim Parsons' portrayal of Sheldon, my heart is kind of breaking that Steve Carell was never recognised by the Academy for his work on The Office. For 7 years he delicately added surprising warmth and heart to one of the most awkward, inappropriate people I've ever seen on TV. Well, THIS fan things you've done a ( Read more... )

ITA! I think he should have been given a nod, same as those connected with Friday Night Lights.

It makes me lose faith in the legitimacy of some awards.

I so loved his performance. I could never stand Ricky Gervais' but I adored Steve's.

Ricky was so cringeworthy, it was hard to watch. Steve walked a finer line, making you cringe at times, but loving him all the while. Some people say the British version was the original & best. TO me they were totally difference, and the US was The Office with heart.

You know that I have never been a fan of the office, but you are not the first person to say just this today and I am very inclined to agree with you. From the episodes I have seen, he certainly did a way better job than some of the other nominees :(

(What is it with Kaley Cuoco (sp?) for instance? I love TBBT and Penny, but her acting is in no way special. If anything she is a tad nicer and less self-involved than in RL (from what I can tell :P) but other than that? Come one, she's never cried or made me cry or anything/ramble)

This final season was some of Steve's best work. The show has won it's fair share of Emmy's but Steve missed out 6 times :( They're calling it a snub, and rightfully so.

Penny is good, but it's the writing that makes her character more than the acting, I think.

He does "uncomfortable" so well. This is exactly why I loved him as Michael Scott.

I agree, it is such a shame he wasn't recognised.

One day they'll realise their mistake and try to make up for it with a lifetime achievement award.
