Something unexpected happened today. We discovered an Echidna walking alongside the major road near our house. Every neighbour who passed by stopped in surprise, because none of us knew we shared our neighbourhood with the little creatures.

A wonderful rescue, Steph. :)

I love Echidnas. There are several videos of rescued ones, including an Echidna Puggle.

Puggles are absolutely adorable! This one was fully grown, but still gorgeous. We were very lucky to see him, we've lived here 10 years and had no idea they were even in the vicinity.

All the neighbourhood kids were very excited! We were really lucky to see him (and lucky to get him to safety too)

So glad you were there to rescue the cute little creature.

I've only ever seen them at Healesville Sanctuary.
