Movie Magic

A few years ago, shammymacc and I walked out of the movie theatre after seeing Magic Mike. Our assessment was identical... most appauling piece of movie making we had seen in a very long while. They tried to make one of those hero-overcomes-great-adversity type stories, but it fell flat in every single way. And despite seeing the delectable Matt Bomer ( Read more... )

Well Steph I cannot agree I saw the movie Wednesday with the girlies from work and apart from some amusing moments I was mostly bored! It was to me a film trying not to be a chick flick by trying and failing to put a story in there! If I wanted a movie with a story I would watch gems like The Imitation Game or Iris. I went with the hope and intention of seeing lots of hunky men dancing and sadly we only got 3 or 4 parts. I loved the dance at the end and the one done by the dance in petrol station but otherwise it should zoom to DVD lol imho

LOL.. were we even watching the same film? You should come along with Fiona and I to add a third perspective to our movie going. We are like Margaret and David usually :)

and I should ask if you saw the first one, because if you thought this was trying too hard for a story, then the other was trying to write War and Peace!

I enjoyed the first one but I think I was on an Adam high. I saw it in London with my daughter during the time I saw Adam and Queen three nights running. I've watched it since then and thought it was not as good as I first thought.

I went to Wollongong a few weeks ago and did the airbnb thing. There was a woman staying in the same apartment. We got along well and I took her to see the movie. I enjoyed it but thought it dragged a bit at the beginning. The dancing was great but wasn't overly impressed. It was fun and I loved Channing and Matt. Who wouldn't love that eye candy? I educated her in the joys of QaF that she'd never heard of before. It was a fun few days.
