17th birthday surprises... (an update to rival the little one's)
Ok, this may take a while
So it was the 31st of august and I innocently thought that I was celebrating my birthday this day, but, oh no, my friends had other plans.
So…. Thursday. Into town we go, I had a headache and was wearing fat posery sunglasses, it was amusing. Loitered in centre waiting for zoo bus and took photos of freemail thingy, they were cool.
Right, zoo. Very cool. I love the penguin enclosure where you see them on their little fake pebble beach and then walk under the water later. And the lion roared at us. We found a teddy and named him toby and he went everywhere with us.
Then it hit 4ish and we could see lightening in the distance, all of us in little vests as it had been so hot earlier, so we head home. Storm gets really bad inbetween buses. Get back to mine, then people came round at 7ish for a bbq. Small thing, 15 cloest friends, so I could turn 17 with the people I care most about at midnight. That went quite smoothly, as gatherings go.
yeah. we kick ass. i kick pale ass though.
charlotte may have gotten slightly tipsy...^ but so didn't need those three people to help her down a step.
for those of you who don't have the pleasure of knowing the above, she got a gazillion a*s for gcses and is a very good little girl who doesn't get drunk. uhuh. yeah, right. look at that face.
we took myspace whorey style photos and posed a bit ^ (is there a down arrow?)
and i'm not wearing the same top all the time i just have a vest problem.
Next day. After 4 hours sleep (very good for us) some people left for 6th form interviews. Presents from parents. Kerry and I loitered til 12:30 and went for our interview.
//sixth form crap: I ‘have’ to take language (away) instead of lit because the latter would mess my timetable up soo badly. Which is better I guess, more original. Chemistry and psychology are at my own school and RS is half away at another. Philosophy wasn’t an option as they decided to randomly re-introduce General Studies. Found out they’re asking for our business papers to be re-marked as everyone got 1 or 2 below what they were predicted. Also found out my a* in lit was only one, which was very cool *jumps up and down slightly* as it’s my ‘thing’.//
so I got home from interview and got ready for coffee with friends. Amanda phoned me to say she’d be late, so I got suspicious and antsy so sat and listened to bright eyes. Then heard a car and went out side and almost died, they’d decorated the camper van with banners and photos (a awful one of me with a piece of underwear on my head on the outside and everything) so I thought oh god we’re going to coffee in that!
(note how tired and worried i look. but you wait, the facial works wonders.)
But noooo. We had champagne and they said (they lied) we were going to Bath to shop and ‘chill out’. So we get there and they’re like ‘we’re late!! Walk faster!’ and we lost toby and had to double back. Anyway, finally get ‘there’ and they abandon me a spa place for a facial and back massage (me being very shocked yelled ‘I hate you’ jokingly, and mildly upset them, but it was, umm surprising.) so after an hour of relaxing I was like wow you guys are the best friends ever etc.
At this point in my update I would like to apologise for my terrible slang use/rambling/change in tense.
//Also, we bumped into Jerome, a guy from duke of edinburgh in Amanda and I’s expedition team, and yelled Jerome! Only for him to reply ‘vince!’ and Amanda to gasp ‘close!’ as we had unwittingly gone up to his identical twin (who we knew of but had never met) in the middle of Bath, so that was very funny (he didn’t look too happy though).//
So we head home and I’m all innocent and naïve that I’ve had this amazing surprise and that’s it (as you would cus it was crazy cool). Too relaxed for my own good. Then I get given a dress!! And told we’re having cocktails at amanda’s and I had to wear it. I was mildly suspicious at this as a friend had accidental (supposedly sent to wrong person) said see you at 6 to me earlier online. So I thought maybe I’d get there and there would be our little girly group.
But no it was little sarah, sarah and Amanda, which was still very cool. We had a couple of cocktail thingys and sat in her garden which was pleasant. Then Amanda says lets go eat and picks up her jacket, and says ‘don’t worry we’re having fish and chips’. So I’m like, ‘ok, fine, if that’s it I’ll just wait here.’ (to which they looked mildly alarmed) so they coaxed me into leaving (‘fine, but I’m not taking my bag. Ok, ok, where’s my bag?’ little one holds it up from behind her back ‘just in case you refused.’)
So we get in the car and once we hit the motorway I’m all twitchy. We get to park street (for those who don’t know Bristol it’s one of the main streets with the old part of the university at the top and cool shops/restaraunts) and I think wow we’re going for a pizza or something, the four of us. But no.
We go to this lovely Italian place and walk in and both charlottes, kerry, emily and el are sat waiting! I was really surprised/ near collapsing under constant tension by now. It was crazy.

so we had a nice meal and amanda made me a cake! (not right there and then obviously but you know). It was just amazing. My friends must really care about me, who knew. Hehe. Joke! It was really really cool. I can’t put into words how grateful I am so I’m not going to try. Just a HUUUUUUGE thank you to Amanda, little one and sarah. oh, you wait til there birthdays. mwhaha.
