I'm about to go out with Daughter Number Two to see Billy Elliot (the tour is in LA). I saw the show in London and in NYC, so I know I'll like it and have a good time, but

Wow. I thought I was having a dramatic life. (It isn't really, it's just gone a bit wrong and will be fixed soon.) You're living a full-blown soap opera.
Boycotting the 'Avengers' sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face to me. Not that I have any desire to see it, but Judy and nearly everyone I know who's into that sort of thing loved it. Plus it's Joss, so it must be good.
Your life is far more dramatic than mine. Mine is filled with tiny dramas that feel big to me because I'm in the middle of them, but which no one cares about other than me. I'm living a soap opera, you are living a Lifetime made for TV movie, which, in my opinion is far more interesting and uplifting...
I really liked Avengers. I've now seen it twice (we went back again yesterday). The people who are boycotting are doing it because Jack Kirby, who invented many of the characters, isn't getting any money from the movie. Of course, since he's dead I expect they're unhappy that his family isn't getting any money. It was a bad deal he got, and Marvel done him wrong. I'm not sure that avoiding a movie helps that in any way, shape, or form though. We'll give money to one of the funds to help make up for it. And I'll probably see the movie again, because, like I said, I really liked it.
