a long entry about being old.

well, to quote john mayer, ever since turning 20 i have been in the midst of a quarter-life crisis. i have felt like i was stuck in this new place in my life, trying to figure out the difference between being a measly teenager and actually being an adult. yeah, pretty much i just slumped into a rampant case of peter pan syndrome, not wanting to ( Read more... )

Susan,
I always knew you had it in you to be adult. While you may think you seem giggly and young and silly, I always felt that you were older and more mature than I. I'm serious. Also, I too felt old (and sadly alone) during the wedding encounter.

Maybe one day we will make people feel old or weird or out of sorts - maybe

probably when we are old and gray and living with 32 cats people will think we are old. but you will only be living with cats because your husband (whom you marry on may 27, 2006) will have passed away because you fed him too many chocolate coins. but you will reunite with me and we will live together and people will most definitely think we are weird because we will hand out pennies on halloween for unicef.

Susan, I totally understand where you're coming from. As a matter of fact, I've been trying to figure out today what to post in my xanga (because I'm cool like that and haven't switched to LJ) since tomorrow I'll officially be 21. I feel like I should be grown up and yet not at the same time. And the wedding thing? Um yeah, it was amazingly beautiful and I loved being a bridesmaid but I definitely could relate to how you and Megean were feeling. As a matter of fact, I think we discussed this.
Also, I'm really sorry to hear about your grandmother. We'll be sure to call you in the next few days whenever we hang out because I'm sure at some point you could use an escape. I'll be praying for you and your family.
High school crew. The rest of Christmas Break. We're hanging out. I'm rehiring you AND giving you a raise.
Love,
E.

PS. Can I live with you and Megean with the cats? I have the distinct feeling that's where I'm headed.

PPS. Remind me to tell you about John the Panera boy story.
