Woohm. I've been wanting for a while to come and babble about metallia-vampires to lj and dundunn. So I'll just explain things in little pieces. Or then not. But.
Umm so. Vampire-species. Yeaaahh there's many kinds of vampires, of which Phalangid is the strongest kind. There's a strict hiararchy inbetween every vampire, and this status of theirs also decides their race. Uh. Yeah.
Basically, there's pure vampires, like Phalangid. The first pure vampire was born from a virus-based disease spreading from human males to mermaids in sexual contact. The virus killed the fetus, but the baby continued to grow because of the virus. D: For the first thing after giving birth, the virus-baby kills and eats it's mother, and gets her appearance. So yes, Phalangid's mother was a mermaid. :D
And because of this the pure vampires are all females. Usually they have a very long lifespawn, and they can recover from serious injuries and regenerate small new limbs like fingers (..they aren't limbs, eh). A pure vampire can also do strong tricks for the mind and cause nightmares to others, - this is because of the third eye. Dudunn.
Also, pure vampires have a very distinctive smell. Depending on the person, it can be sensed as an awful or good smell. However, the smell is toxic, and birds, half-birds and half-humans get killed from it, because of their thin bones. The toxic starts a chemical reaction inside the light bones, and poowwnmm, small explosions inside every bone. Lol. Phally's a chemical weapon.
(A small fact: There was a young bird-boy in metallia before. However, he got killed because of Phalangid and never got into the comic. D:)
The next class from the pure vampire is the eyetricker. Taakiakara is a good and maybe the only example of these. Eyetrickers really.. well, aren't any kind of immrotals, they suffer from injuries and heal quite slowly. Most of the eyetrickers were seriously mentally far-out before they turned into vampires. Paranoia, schizophrenia, psychopathia, - anything goes.
Eyetrickers are mostly males, and they have a short lifespawn, but immense powers in.. well! Eyetricks and mindfucking. They tend to be physically weak, like Taakiakara, but use their developed skill to confuse as their weapon and in search of prey. Taakiakara's a bit special one, on the top of it. His eyes are both individual and can move in many directions at the same time. :D Because of this, he can have many targets, or shatter one mind into two pieces, - after all, it's the eyecontact that catalysates the tricks. He can move from with the prey's eyemovements and thus stay always in front of him/her/it, and he can also make strong deliriumic or illusionistic scenes into the other ones heaad. However, if the eyetricker loses his eyesight, he will become weak and fragile.
And then to the bottom-class. I don't really have any names for these ones, but I like to call Aldo as a wolfjaw because I liek corny things. Aldo and Mörkö are both.. bottom-classers yeah uh. They are the most common class of vampires and have a bit differing appearances depending on the person. They don't usually have many if at all mental powers, but more of physical strenght. Their senses are sharp and they have fast reflexes, and this is why.. bottom-classers may look like they are acting like animals when they are provoked or scared. The ability to heal injuries is.. well, bigger than humans, but it takes time, and they really can be beaten to pulp while at it. As for Aldo, his teeth are a blessing, because they are way more practical than Mörkö's, for example. Mörkö has a tight, sharp row of crocodile-like teeth, and there's no way he can protect his tongue from bites. Aldo has more snake-like teeth, not by their appearance, but because when his mouth is closed, the big canine-teeth dig inside the gums and become the same lenght as normal canine-teeth. When he opens his mouth, the teeth spring out of the mouth dramatically. Of course, the big teeth are more of a trick to make the enemies scared, not for attacking. I bet he could open a can of soda with them, though.
