I must admit I still feel somewhat frightened of the thought of being on my own, but I will do my best to overcome that fear. I'm very glad to hear that the two of you are getting along so well. He's a sweet little bird, and I'm very happy to hear he's been able to give you a measure of comfort. Arthur says he's seen the two of you when he's been out flying, he says Archimedes practically refuses to leave your side. I hope the new year that is just around the corner will treat you with more kindness than the present one.

Archimedes has become very attached to me, I think. But the feeling is mutual. I adore him.

I hope so too. I am trying to gain perspective by holding onto a saying I learned from an anime series: "I haven't only lost things." Because it is very true.
