So is it just me or has truth become just something that sounds like it agrees with your preconceptions? Because it seems nobody is willing to look into something that just sounds good.

Very true, it seems that these days, few people are willing to challenge anything that they already believe... I have to assume that this is sort of a fallout of the stupid attitude that if you admit that you were wrong about something, you are branded as a 'flip-flopper'.
