So, this is me avoiding everything I should be doing.

I'm leaving for NYC on Friday. I haven't done anything aside from printing subway schedules. Though I did just put in a load of laundry. I guess that's something. I'm a last minute packer. I blame it on my mother. She runs around so crazy/busy all the time that everything she does is last minute. A lady I work with starts packing at least 2 weeks before she leaves on a trip. I drive her absolutely crazy when I'm going on a trip because she'll ask me if I've started packing yet, and of course I haven't even gotten the suitcase out of storage yet. That reminds me, I need to get a suitcase out of storage. I guess I could go to the store because there is a bunch of stuff I need to buy before leaving. But, eh, don't want to. Maybe I'll just make a list instead.

I've about decided I don't actually like flying on an airplane. However, I love to travel. And I hate long car rides. So, it is a necessary evil. As I sit on an airplane cruising at 40,000 feet, occassionally my mind will jump outside the plane and remind me that there is absolutely nothing between this plane and the very hard ground 8 miles below it. And that if it were to crash, there is absolutely no chance of survival. It's times like that, that I have to tell my brain to shut up. Oh, and remember, a landing is nothing more than a controlled collission with a planet.

I should probably eat something, but the only thing that sounds appetizing is ice. That can't be good. I'm addicted to ice. Have I ever mentioned that? If ice had any nutritional value whatsoever, I would be one of the healthiest people around. I did recently cut back on how much I consume a day, but it's still a lot. Oh well. So, ice for dinner. Maybe as the night drags on I'll get a craving for some real food. Like popcorn.

I love my iPod. It's a 20GB iPod photo, and it rocks! I was up late the other night adding music to it. Currently, it has about 800 songs on it and I've only used up about 10% of the memory. I also finally got around to fiddling with the photo function. Bet you can all guess who's pictures I experimented with. So, yes, Hugh is on my iPod. Makes me laugh.

I wish I lived in a state that has the Powerball lottery. I want to win $340 million. If I won the lottery, I would definitely bid to win the auction for a day on the movie set with Hugh. Even if the "day" is technically only for 3 hours, I could stand around and watch Hugh for 3 hours. No complaints from me. If I won the lottery, I would also pay for all of my Hugh-friends from around the world to go to Australia next year to see The Boy From Oz. And of course we would do everything first class! Now I bet you all wish I lived in a Powerball state too.

A lady I work with has 5-week old twins. I went to visit her the other night. They're so cute, but I was glad to go home to an empty house that night. Makes me tired just thinking about taking care of twins.

I think it's time to go switch my laundry to the dryer. Does that count as progress in getting ready for my trip?

And finally, a thought for the day blatantly stolen from someone's signature line over on the IMDB message boards:

If you can't win, make the person in front of you break the record. --Unknown

I like that.
