Laws are simply boundaries made by man. There should be no urge to follow them.

Oh, I couldn't possibly care less if anyone were to follow the laws. It's just...safer for others to follow the laws here.

After all, if you break the rules of a game, you're to be punished.

Safer if you are a human, once again.

Regardless of what you may claim to be, if you break the rules here and are caught, the odds of being punished are high.

.....

[Well then apparently this household is breaking the law.]

Hey! There's nothing wrong with helping criminals! We're people too you know!

...People...

Of course. Doesn't change the fact people are punished when they help criminals.

It's a stupid law.

Stupid or not, the fact of the matter is that it is there.

...This is a difficult situation. If we hand Mister Sergei over to Mister Grady, we may be playing right into their hands. But at the same time, we may also be playing into their hands by not turning him in.

The game master has finally made a competent move.

'Competent' only in the context of 'defeating her opponents'. However, is beating the gamemaster our goal?

[Taiga's... relieved to see that you aren't doing anything too stupid, Erika. But she sure won't say that, she just lets out a sigh before talking.]

I don't think Grady gives a damn about search warrants, if that guy's threatening his "perfect" town.

Hmm.

Have you had any interesting encounters, Taigaaa?

Nope. I've been here the whole time, haven't gone outside or anything.

You stayed inside, right?

It seems to me they only follow their own laws when they like to. There's nothing keeping them from breaking them, anyway.

They're cheaters. That is all there is to it.

crytodaddy October 26 2010, 01:54:57 UTC
Would you call it cheating if it's their game? Since they've made the rules..

sue_of_truth October 26 2010, 04:08:40 UTC
< Of course! >

Even a gamemaster must obey their own rules and enforce them; picking and choosing what to follow and what to discard when convenient is the same as cheating.
