If I do anything at all, I start coughing. So I sit here. I got up and made those delicious artichoke, yam and bleu and asiago cheese scones from the Esalen cookbook the other day, and proceeded to sit on the couch and die. Managed to take a couple of buddies to the Whatcom Writers and Publishers meeting at the country club in town, then ( Read more... )

Thanks. The inhalers are doing a great job, but it's been a week. I am beginning to wonder how long this is going to last. It would be nice to be able to clean the house, all of it at once, again. As it is, I'll be lucky to just do the dusting today.

It's just getting frustrating.

That does suck. Is anyone able to help you out for a little while?

My goodness, Sue, are you okay? What's wrong? Whatever it is, I hope you feel much better very soon!

Some lovely lung thing. Don't have a diagnosis yet, but they gave me (and Shauna) two inhalers and some antibiotics. Hoping it's some bronchial infection - something transient. But it has the appearance of asthma, which I am hoping it is not.

Man. That is all kinds of ick :( At least it sounds like amidst your suffering you've had a tiny bit of fun? Hopefully you get better super soon. It sounds rather miserable.

I think there's improvement. I just want to know what the test results are, at this point.

Many times, severe bronchitis can manifest symptoms that are similar to asthma, but disappear after the infection clears up. Not exactly encouraging, but it might not be asthma, hopefully.

And that is exactly my hope, because it would be something transitory. Shauna's having come down with something very similar was encouraging to me. I mean, not that my daughter got sick, you know, but that maybe it was a temporary, infectious thing. ;)

Well, bronchitis being transitory is a relative concept, like after you get over it. When you're in the middle of it...well, the word "interminable" comes to mind. :P

It does seem likely that it's just a major pain-in-the-ass bronchial infection. It always seemed to jump back and forth in my household between my mother and myself.
