Nothing Ever Happens 5 stars!ext_517361April 20 2011, 05:40:23 UTC
A tragic lovestory that had so many twists and turns that I didn't know if I was a roller coaster of high emotion or frustration. I love long angsty books and this was definately one of them. This is the first book I've ever read of Sue's and I'll will be reading more because she brings out the traits of the characters to the point when just as you think you know them they'll do something unexpected. I felt so sorry for Andrew, trapped in a marriage he didn't want but stayed in for the sake of his son, harbouring a love he knew was returned but not able to do anything about it. Then things changed and just when he thought life was going well for him, that happiness was snatched away. Not once, but twice. Nathan was torn, he loved Andrew but was tied to his family and couldn't make the decision what to do. However, just when it looks like he'd made up his mind, family life interfered and stopped him taking what he wanted. My heart went out to both men, and Sue's portrayal of the problems gay men can face were beautifully shown here.

No, I'm no good at writing blurbs or reviews. Just liked the book enough to say something. Now I have to read Morning Report.
