Whilst I can see why this chapter was probably a nightmare to write, it's turned out a dream! Really touching and sad (finally! Dom gets some f*ckedup time! :-) ) but there's still that hope that what they have will last.

Plus, having seen Billy's wild side, the idea of his social worker trying to cope is truly wince-worthy. Especially if we just superimpose Dom into another man's body and then it goes to explain a lot why Billy lashed out about his past.

I had been mostly completely absent from the Monaboyd world for the past few years, because real life just completely tromped in and took over. But the past few weeks I've been coming back into it, and I never realized how much I missed it! A few days ago I stumbled across Beyond the Sea, and every moment of free time since then has been spent reading it, then reading this! It is truly beautiful and powerful and so fucking REAL. I think that's what makes this universe stand out from many of the other Monaboyd AUs I've read over the years - it's bitterly, unapologetically, and BEAUTIFULLY real. And I am absolutely in love with it!

I am eagerly looking forward to more! You've certainly hooked me in! =D

This works so well, better and better the second and third readings. It's hard to do exposition in dialog, but this is bittersweet and believable.
