That is a superb opening sentence. It sets the scene completely - if this had been a drabble you wouldn't have needed to put iin all the (beautifully observed) details, we'd have been right there with you.

Oh dear, poor Orlando must have serious self-esteem issues if he thinks of the Guildhall as "Acting 101". But I love the way he keeps the wink with him as a talisman, and maybe that's all he needs to overcome them.
