I think the first thing is just going to be an unravelthing, which will teach me aal i need to know about the evils of high tension on single crochet!!!

PS: I have, since childhood, wanted to make granny squares!! Who knew I would be of age to be a granny before I learned!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! I probably wouldn't have the patience for it. (This is coming from someone who flunked sewing in junior high. I realize that's different than crocheting, but I suspect the results would be about the same.) ;)

Oh, I think I'm really doing it because I want a new sewing machine so bad, and we can't afford it right now. Loom knitting is fun, too, but I've always wanted to learn to do afghans and granny squares and such. I can't tell you how many knitting and crochet books i have, and now I might just be able to use them, after some practice.

By the way, I refused to take home ec at school, my older sister taught me how to sew...
