I'm italian...I remember too well Pacciani and all the murders near Florence...it was such a dark period of our recent history...

I was fortunate enough to visit Florence back in 1993, and I'm really trying to remember if I'd heard anything about this while I was living in Germany. I might have, but there were so many stories I heard, about people being gassed on trains and robbed, etc., that it was hard to figure out what was true and what was urban legend.

Cool. I really wasn't sure what to expect, so I'd grabbed a couple of different books on CD for the trip in case I didn't like it. That was NOT a problem! And I really do wonder if the fact he was already a famous author helped or hindered what happened to him.
