I realized that it was exactly a year ago today that I was offered my current job.  I remember dancing around my apartment like a dweeb, I literally couldn't do anything else all evening.  I'm pleased to say that that's still the way I feel about my job.  I don't know how many resumes he sifted through, but I'm very glad my boss found mine ( Read more... )

I think your career is quite amazing and very important. I often tend to think that those with PhD's and MD's and such tend to view others as not as great as they are if they don't have the same degrees, but when you talk to someone outside your field, suddenly you appear extremely intelligent and studious. It's almost like trying to fit into a stupid clique or something.

It is like a clique, I never really thought of it that way! Thankfully, my PhD candidate friends from MSU are more concerned with my happiness than a degree or a title, so that's nice.

As a nurse, I can't imagine how you must feel sometimes. I think nurses are some of the most under-appreciated people out there. You care for patients differently than doctors do, it's the same with PAs. My cousin is a nurse, so I hear all sorts of stories from her.

By the way, let me know when you think you'll be venturing to Cleveland next! It would be great to see you!
