I occasionally binge on some form of entertainment. 50 issues of an manga on a scanlation site. An entire season of a TV show on Netflix. BEING HUMAN (both US and BBC), SHERLOCK HOLMES, and two or three more others was the last indulgence. Sometimes I read my own old stuff -- read over ELFHOME the other day. I try to keep filling the well to creative because things like video games don't seem to fill the well. House cleaning doesn't really fill the well, but it keeps the house bearable level of clean while the muse is in full force and I'm too busy to pay attention to the dust bunnies.
Some random things I've learned/done in the last 3 months
* how to operate a veterinary glucose meter to check blood sugar for a diabetic cat. Hint - it helps to have 4 hands, and a flashlight.
* Interesting facts about decontaminating evacuees after a radiation release (I live in one of the cities where the tourist from the seacoast will be bused if the Seabrook nuclear power station ever has an accident). Also where you check first on a vehicle to see if it has been contaminated.
* Just how annoying it is to wear one of those walking casts.
