hey kevin, its dawn. how's it going? i'll be in tokyo for work in a couple of weeks -- but i know thats not so close to where you are. i'm really excited. other than your crab brains adventure, how easy has it been to eat vegetarian there? was wondering if not eating fish would be much of an issue.

after the stupid election, i'm happy to be getting the hell out of america for a bit.

hey dawn! how exciting! what will you be doing while in Tokyo?

there is almost always something with vegetables at Japanese restaurants, but it may not necessarily be vegetarian. since i`ve arrived, i have kind of given up on worrying about soup stocks (they are nearly all beef, chicken or fish based). but you`ll be able to get by if you order vegetable sushi and miso soup type stuff. plus, you will be in tokyo, where there are a million western style restaurants as well, so you can go out for a pizza afterwards, or something. ha. will you have an interpreter? how long will you be in Japan?

hey there - i'll be in tokyo from nov 21-27, and in bangkok the week before that. yay! in tokyo i'll be training some of our staff there, so hopefully someone will show me around a bit (and of course go to karoake with me)! this is my first time to japan, so i'm very excited. i'm taking the day after thanksgiving off, so i'll have a couple of days to play - am thinking maybe kyoto. tokyo is pretty far from where you are, right?

thanks for the info -- i am excited about authentic japanese food, though i know i dont eat the majority of it. it sounds like you're having a great time over there.
